HEER PARATROOPER BADGE

With the creation of the Fallschirm Infanterie Kompanie on October 4, 1936 commissioned by the Army in order to have its own company of paratroopers, on September 1, 1937 the Commander-in-Chief of the army, Generaloberst Frhr. von Fritsch, authorizes the parachute qualification badge for Fallschirm Infanterie Kompanie members to passed/completed the launch course. The first awarded were Hauptmann Zahn l'Olt.Pelz.

On 1 January 1939, by order of the OKW, the Fallschirm Infanterie Kompanie is transferred to the Luftwaffe and will forms the II./Fallschirm Jäger Regiment 1, and if in some cases still retain the army uniform until the end of March 1939, many Fallschirm Infanterie Kompanie members will continue to worm their original badge even after switching to the Luftwaffe model. Officially December 18, 1943 all the badges in the Luftwaffe version will have been awarded but very few will change it with the Heer model.
